Kerala: To celebrate the spirit of Onam and the festivities, Olympus Imaging Corporation, the leading player in new generation cameras, has announced the roll out of consumer promotional offers and holiday packages on every purchase of its wide range of cameras till the end of this month.
As part of the festive sales promotion, Olympus is offering its patrons free Provogue watch worth Rs 2, 499 as well as a holiday package worth Rs 4,000 on every camera purchased. Further, the company will offer its patrons a month-long free service. These special offers are in synergy with the company’s plans of strengthening its presence in the State and thus enabling the patrons to capture the colorful Onam moments with Olympus. The company has recently opened its channel stores in Kochi that showcases a wide array of its newly launched products including Olympus PEN, Mju tough series, Voice recorders, Binoculars and other accessories.
The company was targeting a market share of 15 per cent from Kerala. In line with its business plans, Olympus would set up channel centers in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Kozhikode would have such centres. Olympus also announced that it was planning to expand its distribution cover with 1,500 plus channel partners being appointed last year and this year it would cross 2,000. During this fiscal, the service centres would be raised to 17 from the existing 14.

I think Olympus will need some serious channel management service provider to facilitate their planned expansion.
